Spring Sendoffs: 2025 Closing Days at Ski Resorts Around Yellowstone

Published by

As the snow begins to melt and the sun lingers a little longer each evening, ski season across Yellowstone Country is winding down. But before you stash your skis and swap your shell for a fly rod, there’s still time to catch spring turns, sunshine laps, and closing day parties at some of the region’s most iconic mountains. Whether you’re chasing corn snow, pond skims, or just one last chair, here’s when the lifts stop spinning at five resorts near Yellowstone National Park:

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort

Closing Day: April 13, 2025
Known for its steep terrain and big-mountain vibe, Jackson Hole caps off the season with a bang. Spring skiing here is no joke—expect soft snow, bluebird skies, and a lively scene in Teton Village. Don’t miss the festivities on the last day, where retro gear and fun costumes are worn by skiers.

Grand Targhee Resort

Closing Day: April 20, 2025
Just over the pass in Alta, Wyoming, Grand Targhee typically keeps the good times rolling later than most, thanks to its high elevation and deep snowpack. Targhee’s mellow vibe and panoramic views of the Tetons make it the perfect spot for laid-back spring laps. Look out forlive music and après on the plaza as part of their traditional closing weekend bash.

Big Sky Resort

Closing Day: April 28, 2025
With 5,800 acres of skiable terrain, Big Sky holds on to winter a little longer. April is prime time for sunny groomers and sneaky powder stashes off the tram. The resort usually hosts spring-themed events during its final weekends—think costume contests, mountain-wide scavenger hunts, and DJs spinning at Everett’s 8800 or the base village.

Bridger Bowl Ski Area

Closing Day: April 13, 2025
Local favorite Bridger Bowl wraps things up a little earlier, but not before throwing a closing day party. Expect beachwear and a whole lot of laughter as Bozeman locals send it into spring. Bonus tip: early April often brings classic Bridger “cold smoke” storms, so don’t rule out one last powder day.

Red Lodge Mountain

Closing Day: April 20, 2025
On the edge of the Beartooths, Red Lodge Mountain offers a down-to-earth ski experience with plenty of heart. Their season ends with a weekend full of costumes, music, and family-friendly fun. Whether you're a park rat or a fan of the groomers, this is your last chance to get in some turns before the chairs go quiet.

As winter turns to spring, there’s still time to make the most of the snow. Whether you're heading out for one last powder day, a sun-soaked cruiser, or a costume-filled closing celebration, Yellowstone Country has a mountain for you. Pack your sunscreen, your retro onesie, and your best party spirit—because ski season’s not over just yet.

Check each resort’s website or social media channels before you go—spring storms, snowpack, and weather can sometimes shift closing day plans.
